Refund Policy
Effective August 11, 2026 · Clarity IAQ & Environmental Consulting, LLC
The principle is simple: you should never pay for work that did not happen, and work that did happen, like a site visit or laboratory analysis, has costs that cannot be un-spent. Here is how that works in practice.
1. Estimates cost nothing
Inquiries, the conversation about what your building needs, and written estimates are free. You owe nothing until you approve an estimate.
2. Canceling before the visit
Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment and any deposit or prepayment is refunded in full. We would rather rebook you than charge you.
For cancellations inside 24 hours, or if we arrive and cannot access the property, we may retain the portion of any deposit that covers time and travel already committed. We will always tell you before anything is kept.
3. Once inspection work has been performed
Fees for work already performed are earned when the work happens: the site visit once we have inspected, and laboratory fees once samples are submitted for analysis, since independent labs charge for analysis regardless of what the results show.
Results themselves are never grounds for a refund. A clean report and a concerning report cost the same to produce, and an independent inspection has to be paid the same either way. That independence is what makes the report worth having.
4. If something is wrong with your report
If you believe your report contains an error, like a wrong address, a transcription mistake, or a photo in the wrong section, contact us and we will review and correct it at no charge. If we made a material error in performing the inspection itself, tell us promptly; we will make it right, which may include re-inspection, re-sampling at our cost, or a refund of the affected fees.
5. How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, typically within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
